<p><strong>With the help of some amazing schools, organisations, and of course our fantastic customers, we managed to assemble a display of 3,051 origami dinosaurs in our Wedge Gallery for our Makers Month Guinness World Record attempt. </strong></p>
<p><span id="more-28744"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-28903" src="http://kinokuniya.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/12094632/20190702_092223-770x539.jpg" alt="20190702_092223" /></p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.kinokuniya.com.au/guinness-world-record-attempt/">record attempt</a> ran throughout the month of June, and we asked customers to help us make more than 2,098 origami dinosaurs to beat the current Guinness World record holder. The chosen origami dinosaur was the Apatosaurus, designed by Michael G. LaFosse for Tuttle Publishing.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-28905" src="http://kinokuniya.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/12094749/20190702_100850-770x539.jpg" alt="20190702_100850" /></p>
<p>The final dinosaurs were folded on the last day of the month, June 30th, and on July 2nd we invited Nic Wright, Willoughby City Councillor, and Elizabeth Spratt, CPA, to officially witness the count.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-28904" src="http://kinokuniya.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/12094717/20190702_100740-770x539.jpg" alt="20190702_100740" /></p>
<blockquote><p>It took us over an hour to count all them all, but were overjoyed (and relieved?) to count 3,051 origami dinosaurs!</p></blockquote>
<p>The evidence will be sent to Guinness World Records for verification, and hopefully soon we can be the proud holders of the record for the world&#8217;s largest display of origami dinosaurs!!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-28906" src="http://kinokuniya.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/12094822/20190702_101628-770x539.jpg" alt="20190702_101628" /></p>
<p>We quite literally could not have done this without the support of our partners <a href="https://www.tuttlepublishing.com/" target="_blank">Tuttle Publishing</a> and <a href="https://www.newsouthbooks.com.au/" target="_blank">NewSouth Books</a>, the helping hands of various schools and organisations, and all the customers who visited our gallery and folded one or ten or twenty origami apatosauruses. To view a list of our contributors, see <a href="https://www.kinokuniya.com.au/guinness-world-record-attempt/" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-28907" src="http://kinokuniya.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/12094931/engadine_groupshot_1_small-770x578.jpg" alt="engadine_groupshot_1_small" /></p>
<p>As promised, we, along with Tuttle Publishing and NewSouth Books, will donate $1,000 to our chosen charity, the <a href="https://www.indigenousliteracyfoundation.org.au/" target="_blank">Indigenous Literacy Foundation</a>!</p>
