The Build-Up Season book launch

Join us and author Megan Jacobson to celebrate the publication of her latest YA novel, The Build-Up Season, to be launched by Melina Marchetta.

Seventeen-year-old Iliad Piper – Ily for short – is named after war and angry at the world. Growing up with a violent father and abused mother, she doesn’t know how to do relationships, family or friends. Ily takes off her armour for nobody, until she meets Jared, a local actor and someone who’s as complicated as she is.

The Build-Up Season is set to cement Jacobson’s reputation as one of Australia’s finest YA authors, with its frank and powerful look at domestic violence, self-worth, resilience and the importance of true friendship.

With a reading from the book by Logie award-winning actress Shari Sebbens.
