Dawson is a regular contributor to Attitude, GT, Glamour and Guardian and has contributed to news items concerning sexuality, identity, literature and education on BBC Woman’s Hour, Front Row, This Morning and Newsnight.

In 2015, Dawson announced her transition to become a woman. She writes full time and lives in Brighton UK.

Amelia Lush is the recipient of the 2016 Penguin Random House Young Bookseller of the Year Award, and the 2014 Elizabeth Reilly Fellowship for Children’s Bookselling. She is a member of the 2018 Stella Prize judging panel, and is passionate about children’s and young adult literature.
